Text Box: Cllr Mrs Elsie Powell is the Deputy Mayor of St.Asaph. And was born in Oldham, Lancs and first moved to the St.Asaph area in 1959 when she worked in the Rating and Valuation Department of the Inland Revenue in both Denbigh and Colwyn Bay. She has lived here permanently since 1977 when she worked in the Land Registry Section of Rhuddlan Borough Council. For 16 years she worked at the Health Care Centre on The Roe until her retirement in 2004.  

 

 

Text Box:  Since joining the Town Council in 2004 Elsie has taken an active part on many committees. She is a member of the Afon Elwy Care Group and City of Music Group and is also part of the City Times team. Elsie is married to Barry and has children and grandchildren, making the issue of the well being of young people in this area an important priority. Her hobbies are walking, gardening, painting and music, she is a former member of Rhyl Operatic Society and St.Asaph Choral Society and was an active member of Bath Street Methodist Church until its closure in December 2006. St.Asaph is a beautiful part of Wales and its potential must be realized for the benefit of its residents.
