ST. ASAPH CITY COUNCIL

SUMMER FAYRE 2011

St. Asaph Mayor, Cllr. Andrew Thomas, had every right to blow his trumpet as the second annual Summer Fayre, organised by the Town Council, proved a great success. The sun shone, the Rhyl Silver Band played, and the stalls offered a wide variety of tempting goods.

St. Asaph Community Association took full advantage of the event to publicise their ongoing efforts to raise funds for a community centre while the Afon Elwy Environment Group shared the stall to display a selection of photograph albums recording their projects.

The organising committee, headed up by the Mayor and Deputy Mayor, Cllr, John Roberts, were delighted that the event was so well supported and had been enjoyed by so many.

The next Fayre will be held on a Saturday in August 2012 on the Common by the surgeries. Full details will be available in Spring 2012.

PARTY IN THE STREET 2012

This year the Party will be on a Friday in December from 5pm to 8pm on Chester Street.

As usual Chester Street will be closed for the fayre.

There will be the school choirs singing carols, followed by The Soggy Bottom Boys and then community carol singing.

The fun fare will be there, stalls will be selling festive items and hot food and refreshments will be available and not forgetting Father Christmas and perhaps real  snow like last year! For further details contact Andrew Thomas on 583100 or on andrewthos@aol.com

SPORT RELIEF MILE 2012

In March 2010 the event was held at the Roe Plas Playing Fields where there were over 300 entrants.

People of all ages ran their preferred distance between one and six miles .

This is becoming a regular feature with entrants returning time and time again  as they love the safe course which runs along the river, by the trees and across open grass lands.

The next Sport relief will be in Spring 2012 and details will become available nearer the time.

ALTHOUGH MANY OTHER EVENTS ARE ORGANISED FOR ST.ASAPH THESE ARE THE EVENTS THE COUNCIL ORGANISES

SUMMER FAYRE, PARTY IN THE STREET AND SPORT RELIEF.
